Brief Intro

An editorial piece focusing on people’s relationships with their bikes, creating a little bible of cycling to inspire any would-be reader on a cold wet morning. Through the project, I got the opportunity to collect content from people around the world, manage photoshoots, content and design the editorial outcome.

Cycling is more than transport

My own relationship with cycling felt internally confusing, a patchwork of blurry childhood recollections and fresh stories captured in full HD. I will never be celebrated in my chosen sport however I feel compelled to celebrate it whenever I am given a chance. Maybe other cyclists had a story, a thought or a relationship around the one thing we shared?

Being able to experience the role of the Project Manager as responses started coming in from different time zones, as well as being a Writer and Photographer on this project gave me pieces of knowledge I wasn't expecting. Wearing those different hats throughout the process fed into the design stage of the project. I could see the full picture coming together even before I jumped into an Adobe programme. Pulling references from modern design and putting them next to the Blackletter referring to the old cycling posters of central Europe.
